And the Oscar Goes To… Commercialism!

While you were gawking at the bright-eyed celebs, making bets on who had their ___ done and praying that ‘Avatar’ wouldn’t buy its way into the film of the year, you might have missed the most important part of last week’s Academy Awards – at least in terms of advertising.

The winner of Best Animated Short Film went to “Logorama” – a clever bit from French producers that created a tongue-in-cheek appluase from the ad industry earlier last year. A clever satire of the quintessential Hollywood action flick, “Logorama” uses only recognizable brand logos to create character, setting and much of the plot.
