Time. Place. Condition.

There are moments, places, events that just seem to hang in time. In Chicago, it seems to happen more often.

It’s not an illusion, it’s because most Chicagoans are too cheap or busy to change with the times.

But, in terms of vintage design, maybe that’s a good thing. I’d say so.

And so would self-taught Chicago photographer, Tracey Capone (I said, ‘Chicago,’ didn’t I?). This calendar, “All Signs Point to Chicago,” uses photographs of classic Chi-town signs – neon and oil paint, frozen in time – to mark the steady march towards the future. Irony never looked so good.

Plus, damn if they’re not simply dripping with cool.

So, why not fulfill that missing ironically-clever-yet-startlingly-beautiful calendar hole in your life and pick one up today? Oh, and don’t forget to save the date for that deaf institute philharmonic fundraiser next month. Buh-bum-ching.
